Creation of New Regions
NPP's second tenure (2017–2021)
The NPP government, led by President Nana Akufo-Addo, initiated the process to create six new regions: Bono East, Ahafo, Western North, Oti, Savannah, and North East. This required a referendum as per constitutional provisions under Articles 4 and 5.
Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP)
Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959).
The Act was introduced and passed during the tenure of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his first term (2017–2021).
- To enhance Ghana’s fight against corruption by creating a specialized office with autonomy from traditional institutions like the Attorney General’s Department.
