John Atta Mills

- Mills passed away in 2012, and Vice President John Mahama succeeded him
John Dramani Mahama
- 2012: Following Mills’ death, Mahama, then vice president, became the NDC candidate and won the general election as the incumbent president.
- 2024: Mahama returned as the NDC candidate and won the presidency again, marking his second term
